Service Positioning
We provide an integrated China–Thailand service, from company incorporation to pre-production approvals, for Chinese EV and auto parts manufacturers building factories in Thailand. Parts manufacturers often have to meet the validation and supply schedules of vehicle makers and OEMs. When a product supplies vehicles, energy storage or general machinery at the same time, its actual use, the manufacturing processes performed in Thailand and its technical conditions must be explained clearly; moving equipment from China, adjusting processes or changes in customer requirements also affect the filing and the start of production. Starting from the products and production lines, Z&X coordinates head office engineering and finance with the Thai team, keeps the company, BOI, equipment and finance and tax documents consistent, and moves each procedure forward according to the supply plan.
Scope of Services: What Is and Is Not Included
| Handled by Z&X | Arranged separately or without a guaranteed outcome |
|---|---|
| Company setup: name reservation, articles of association, shareholder registration, incorporation documents and company seal; checking the entity, shareholding and business scope against contract signing, production and sales, and funding arrangements. | ODI filing and foreign exchange registration in China; for business beyond manufacturing, such as trading or after-sales, foreign business access and licensing requirements are checked separately. |
| Supporting registrations: assistance with bank account opening, VAT registration (PP.20), social security and customs import/export registration, linking payments, invoicing, employment and imports. | Factory site selection, construction, environmental impact assessment and specialist engineering design. |
| BOI assessment and application: checking use and processes, filing category, capacity and investment data; organising technical evidence, interviews and responses to queries. | Mandatory product certification, quality system certification and vehicle maker or OEM supplier audits themselves; Z&X supports with entity and finance and tax documents. |
| Post-approval follow-up: approval letter deadlines, certificate collection, master machinery list, raw material stock and production formula filings, and applicable import release applications. | Customs declarations are handled by the customs broker the company appoints; the scope of duty exemptions is subject to approval conditions and review of each import. |
| Factory and staff procedures: applicable factory procedures based on the actual machining, surface treatment, assembly and site conditions; BOI visas and work permits for foreign managers and technicians. | Work permits for non-BOI companies; government fees and third-party costs such as certified translation are listed separately. |
For how each work stream is scheduled backward and run in parallel from assessment to production, see Thailand Factory Setup Roadmap: Scheduling Every Work Stream from Registration to Production.
How Z&X Differs from a Standard Registration and Approval Service
| Point of comparison | Standard registration service | How Z&X handles it |
|---|---|---|
| Registration plan | Only confirms that the company can be incorporated. | Checks production, sales customers, customer contracts, equipment imports and head office investment plans together, and clarifies the registered scope and later business access matters. |
| Category assessment | Fits a category to the product name or a single use. | Compares routes against order use, manufacturing processes and category conditions; for cross-use products, assesses whether separate listing or separate filings are feasible, defining evidence and accounting boundaries first. |
| Technical evidence | Translates process descriptions and waits for the client to answer review questions alone. | Checks capacity against key equipment and bottleneck processes, mapping raw materials, processes, output and inspection; distinguishes in-house from purchased parts and drawing requirements from equipment capability, with the client's technical staff confirming key facts. |
| Review coordination | Queries are forwarded back and forth between the agency and the client. | The Thai side identifies the review points, the China side organises confirmation by engineering, finance and management, and Chinese and Thai answers are prepared, stating what to add, who confirms and when to submit. |
| Local site and head office | The factory, the Thai filing and the head office in China each move on their own. | Advisers with a manufacturing finance background work with the dedicated BOI team, the Chonburi EEC Branch follows up on site, and the "two countries, three firms" structure aligns finance and tax approaches in China and Thailand. |
Coordination is put into practice with the Z&X CODE compliance-growth model: the Compliance Calendar tracks supply and approval milestones, the Orchestrated Structure aligns product, equipment and financial documents, Dual-Track China–Thailand Coordination defines who confirms and who communicates, and Verifiable Delivery keeps versions, receipts and handover lists.
Common Concerns of Parts Manufacturers and How Z&X Addresses Them
| Industry concern | How Z&X responds |
|---|---|
| Our products are used in electric vehicles, energy storage and general machinery. How should we file? | Explain the end use, order customers and processes for each, check whether capacity and costs can be separated, then compare filing combinations and their conditions, so that names, uses and actual production stay consistent. |
| How do we prove the technical conditions of high-precision parts or assembled products? | Organise drawings of key parts, machining equipment parameters and inspection evidence for the applicable category; explain which processes are done in Thailand and which parts are purchased. Tolerances, gear accuracy and measured results are each explained, rather than letting the word "precision" stand in for the argument. |
| Early advice and the formal review disagree. Should we change the category or the data? | Verify the differences in rules and facts, compare how further argument or a category change would affect timing, investment and incentives, and let the client confirm the plan; local purchasing, value added and employment data are stated truthfully. |
| Our customer has already set the supply date. How do registration and approvals fit in? | Schedule backward from trial production, customer validation and formal delivery, listing the prerequisites for bank accounts, tax, customs, factory procedures and staff; share bottlenecks and pending decisions weekly, and explain remedial arrangements promptly if a delay appears. |
| Equipment and moulds in China are ready to ship, but import procedures are not complete. | Check new or used status, specifications, invoice descriptions, process use and arrival plans in advance, so the machinery list and filing documents match the actual goods, and work with the customs broker to confirm release and clearance conditions. |
| If we add uses or products after production starts, do the original incentives and financial arrangements still apply? | Check whether the change affects the approved products, processes and capacity, and identify the changes that need confirmation; link project-based accounts, raw material and production records to support ongoing compliance and head office management. |
Document management follows the same mechanism as our manufacturing service: a signed confidentiality agreement, a dedicated person and file for each project, use limited to the filing, and handover against a checklist at the end. Quotations list service fees and third-party costs separately, and third-party costs are settled as actually incurred against receipts.
